It is scary. Not the dragon (Im scared more of spiders then dragons ;) but the volume of work and devotion needed to create something like this in pixelart.

Truly great piece indeed, but personally I don't feel that much for the actual drawing, though it's excellent on pixel levels. Favourite for sure.

I would loose some little details on a rock so it wont steal attention from the reptile.
I have seen this on Deviantart and I have to say I an still amazed.

Saw the link posted by mathias in pixelation. This is awesome and mighty impressive but! if you do have some time and the drive to get back on it in the future, just a few clean up what like the others have mentioned would be great.

This leads me to my main reservation. It sounds like you went through a lot of hardship while working on this piece. Maybe some of it was partially caused by the art. I know it's hard to give a relationship time and attention when I'm obsessed with an artwork.
In the end, the piece doesn't seem that indicative of your personal struggle. It's a dragon based on someone else's generic, derivative design from one of the most popular video games the world has seen. The piece appeals to me as a pixel artist who can appreciate the sheer herculean amount of effort and technique you devoted to its creation, but it doesn't speak to me as a human.
I don't think that every piece of art needs some grand message, but when an artist sinks 400+ hours into something, I have to ask why. The piece displays masochistic virtuosity without taking ownership of the subject matter. Are you that big of a WoW fan that you’d spend this kind of energy making a tribute?

Congratulations! Seeing this piece to completion takes a lot of discipline and skill! Your color choice and understanding of light and shadow demonstrate mastery.
I can't resist listing some minor crits. I like the way the dragon's front right leg interacts with the stone. The claws look like they are tearing a chunk out of the pedestal. In contrast, the other two visible legs look like they're gently floating on top of the rock. The rough, aliased dark patches on the stone below the rear leg look a bit unintentionally unfinished.
I realize you're probably sick of working on this, but it might be cool to add a little knight or something to the piece. Having a tiny human would help set the scale (awesome) and give the dragon a target for its angry flame. The execution of the piece is lovely, why not take it another step and tell a story with it?
