@Muiriled eh the tree wasn't really meant to be realistic, but I see where you are coming from. Thanks for critique and compliments. I don't feel bad at all haha I like critiques, hopefuly I do a better job with a tree next time :)

The tree is definitively too arquethipical. That's working as a quick general idea of a tree, and as basis for kids to learn drawing, but actually true trees almost never are like that. you may go outside and take a look. Also the changes in the sky should make a biger change on the light over everything else and not just the far background.
Other than that it's a really good piece, you got some very good characters and a particular atmosphere.
Please don't take it bad. i won't spend my time in critics if i dont think the artist is promising.
As a pixel piece it's good, but as a game mockup it's unorginal and boring.
I actually rather like philip's edit to the tree. I think the big thing to take away from it is the emphasis on increased detail twoards the outer edge as it becomes darker. It helps give a more three dimensional look. As it is, the texture of the current tree makes it look somewhat flat.

@jellybeanfish oh so many compliments ! I am glad you like it, but I really doubt it's as good as Maple Story haha
@Philippejugnet ehh not liking that tree, it's exactly like rpgmaker xp tree, the style is really not fitting anything else on the picture..
get rid of those square textures =)

I love the new background! I love the tiny sprites you've managed to make, too. I especially love the hair shading. It feels ripped straight out of a Korean MMO - and I mean that in the best way, in that it looks like it could easily be a popular MMO like maplestory (the graphics are way, way better than maplestory!).
