You got a point there Adam - it seems I have to admit that dithering is not always the best way to go...

user
Dex (Level 11 CEO) at 7/9/2012 2:44:04 PM

awesome stuff! love the reflection! I would definitely like to see you work a little less with dithering, though-- makes the water look more solid than it should and the flower could use more solid clusters as well. either way, great job!

user
TheoVision (Level 8 Regional Boss) at 7/5/2012 5:48:59 AM

Thanks DawnBringer for your feedback, it's appreciated as always.

I chose a contrasting color on purpose to emphasize the contrast of the sunny side and the darker murky under water view.

Furthermore I was smiling reading your "root-comment" as I have been thinking of adding such a root myself, but in the end decided not to do so, as I couldn't really figure out how to do it right (exept adding a root-line into the eye socket, which - in my opinion - would just be an ample attempt to connect both worlds). So if you have any suggestions: I'm all ears!

A good old "Raster Effect" friendly composition.

user

Love that reflection on the water.

user
DawnBringer (Level 10 Maniac) at 7/4/2012 4:46:00 PM

This is pretty great...but that bright-blue background just seem a bit too strong to me. Maybe darken it a little and make it more purple? Would also be cool if the flower had a root feeding of the skull directly (perhaps into an eyesocket)

Wow. Great job.
