it's a fantastic animation effect but it doesn't at all look like lava. it's more of a shallow swimming pool of hot soup

Thanks for the comments guys and gals! I've been conducting further experiments with this and have taken a slightly different approach with some adjustment to the movement of the wavy lines which I think would make the liquid look better.

I agree with Franuka that it would benefit if it looked more thicker and moved slower. I also would have added lava crusts floating on the top.

I'll probably try a water variant next:)

Hey, so this lava animation! (Bad connection to the Internet - thought that the picture is static)
Very cool, the effect of swaying the surface of the lava
looks awfully hard to
(I can not even imagine how much time it took to create the animation.)
Even in doubt, hand it work.
Bad that this does not look like lava located on the ground.

Очень здорово, эффект колыхания поверхности лавы выглядит ужасно сложно!!!
(даже не могу представить сколько заняло время создания анимации).
Даже появились сомнения, ручная ли это работа.
Плохо что эта лава не выглядит расположенной на земле.

 That's so friggin awesome. I think the consistency feels more like water (not as dense), but it still feels so alive. I love it.
