I decided to try to do some pixelart. Here's my my attempt to isometric pixelart. It took 5-6 hours to do this aquarium, during this work I learned different tutorials, about geometry, about water, shading e.t.c.

Very original for iso, using circles. Pretty awesome.

how did you make the circle look so accurate? it even works when the glass gets smaller than the metal.

Very nice I like all the detail

user
xdjkittiex (Level 1 Quiet One) at 8/24/2006 6:54:03 PM
This is nicely done - love how the tank looks and I like the fact that you didn't just have the water go all the way to the top like most would do.  The waterline in the tank really adds to it.

Fantastic! This is your first? I'm impressed! The layers look great, and I love the little plants and moss around the bottom.

user
pixelblink (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 1/16/2006 11:52:11 PM
Firstly, let me just say I understand about the layering thing (opacities I assume). I've done the same in the past with my Castle Blinkenstein. While it's not a purist ideal, it's still a technique that is pixels and it's well done in any case.  Hope to see more from you soon :)

user
jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) at 1/15/2006 11:13:03 PM
great job for a self-proclaimed n00b. The concept is clever, the colors are beautiful
it does seem however that some of the aa is computer generated.

Coll! "Fresh" fish. :)

user
inkspot (Level 4 Button Man) at 1/15/2006 12:23:17 PM
Ah, at first glance, I saw it as a giant fuel tank or something (what you see in the industial areas) and fishhead graffiti painted on it. Nah.

user
Kryon (Level 1 Depressed) at 1/15/2006 10:41:20 AM
Very amazing. I love the colors and the scene. You have done a great job for a first attempt on isometrics. A 5 and a fav :)

user
raynoa (Level 5 Soldier) at 1/15/2006 1:02:34 AM
No, not first pixel, but first isometric try. I have some non-isometric works, and I will upload it later.

user
bunlee (Level 5 Killer Klown) at 1/14/2006 11:38:34 PM
This looks Awesome. 5 Stars + Fav. can't believe that's your first pixel drawing!

user
Twisted (Level 1 Quiet One) at 1/14/2006 1:09:18 PM
WOAH! But fish don't have eyelids. Still, WOAH!

user
raynoa (Level 5 Soldier) at 1/14/2006 8:29:01 AM

Yes, forget to say, final color balancing used.

Fish isn't dead, Ithink it is just sick now.

user
Haash (Level 3 Enforcer) at 1/14/2006 8:21:37 AM

For a first piece this look awesome... Maybe it's the photoshop touch up? But it's an excellent work anyway. Good colors and shadings! Is the poor fish dead?

user
sensation (Level 1 Intern) at 1/14/2006 8:20:00 AM
although you used photoshop, this is bloody amazing!

user
raynoa (Level 5 Soldier) at 1/14/2006 8:14:29 AM

I'm working in Photoshop about 2 years, doing hires digital art, and (as usual) I used layer-based technique here - several transparent layers are on the tank hull. water surface is also transparent texture-layer.

..::Naso::.. (Level 5 Killer Klown) at 1/14/2006 7:02:43 AM
Nice job but as stvan said, it has 2 many colors did u like semi-pixel this and use photoshop or something?

user
Dutrho (Level 2 Corporal) at 1/14/2006 6:20:42 AM
wow thats awsome, so well textured.

user
Larwick (Level 8 Regional Boss) at 1/14/2006 5:46:59 AM
Very mysterious, i can imagine this being in an abandoned research lab on some sci-fi game.

user
iSTVAN (Level 8 Cannibal) at 1/14/2006 5:41:07 AM
Quite bloody well pixelled! Are you saying this is your first piece? I like growth around the tank in particular. The reflections on the tank look like they havent been hand pixelled, and the colour count confirms this with 256. Did you use some sort of layering method?
