This week's challenge is brought to us by weekly challenge winner kakikukeko. Mockup a character selection menu of a game of your own. It can be any kind of game, puzzle game, beat them all, platform or whatever..

Rules:
  • You have to show (at least) one character and its name.
  • The character select must be a living character -- not a ship or other type of vehicle.
  • Size MUST BE 240x160 (can't be vertical) .. you can work half rez if you want (or mix some full rez/ half rez element), but your final picture must be 240*160.
  • Up to 64 colors
Here are a few examples, from the  simplistic look of sonic or metal slug (sorry gba version ^^) to the hardcore SFA3 ....  don't stick to those, there are so many other kind of menus...  good luck!

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

Edit:  OK, server should be all set now... please let me know if you guys run into any further bugs.

Ever wanted to create that one game you've always dreamed about, but are a really bad coder and/or don't want to learn? Then you need Stencyl, the easiest 2D tile-based game creater ever (plus it's free!). It uses point click programming with easy to set up triggers. I like it because now I don't need to keep posting on the GMC for help on my games made with Game Maker. The best part about it (mainly because we are all artists) is that the only part that really requires any skill is your graphics. So far, Stencyl has "kits" for you to make platformers, action, action rpg's, strategy and shooter. More kits will arrive.
