A  new software called Gizmo Project now allows users to phone another person via (Cellphone/Homephone) right from your computer.

You can call long distance to 60 countries for free!

It's a pretty neat program you can call computer to computer, computer to phone, or phone to computer.

Definitely a must try. Gizmo Project website.

Seems someone has discovered that the Mario 2 released for the NES was infact stolen!
It was an exact ripoff of a game called Doki Doki Panic.

Click here to see what I'm talking about.
Now if you don't want to hear the guy bash Mario 2, and straight to what I am talking about.
Then skip right to 6mins and 30secs into the video.

You will then see the truth about Mario Bro's 2.

Metaplace

A friend of mine linked me to this, a group of coders will be releasing a web based massive multi-player game maker. This caught my attention, I have a sudden urge to try and make Terra into a web based MMO.

Definitely something worth checking out and keeping an eye on. Metaplace is currently in closed alpha testing.

The Pixel Casting Machine can be reconfigured by hand to create an infinite variety of pixelated ceramic vessels. The mold works like a regular slip-cast mold; the blocks are made of plaster to absorb water from the ceramic. After some time, the remaining liquid is poured out, leaving a hollow vessel.

The RetroN 3 gaming system is compatible with NES, SNES and Sega Genesis cartridges. It comes with six controller ports - 2 for each of the previously mentioned consoles, so you can use your original controllers from your chosen system. Or if you like, it also comes packed in with two wireless controllers of its own. It's available now for $69.99 USD in either red or black (which actually looks more grey than black...).

Ordering information can be found here.

www.welovefine.com/contest.php

The t-shirt company WeLoveFine is hosting an 8-bit contest.
Their use of the term 8-bit is a bit loose it would seem by our standards.
None the less, it couldn't hurt to partipate in the contest.
Win up to $2500
