I think too many people look at this and go "OMG it's shiny!" and give it a billion stars and fave it, without really analyzing it. This works better as a texture study than a finished piece because it lacks an essential element: composition. The way you arrange objects in a picture is the foundation for a good piece, whereas the shiny sparkly details are more of an afterthought, used to enhance a picture. I agree with Blick that time would have been better spent making the text more interesting.

Well crafted? Yes, I'd say so. Too bad the composition is just so busy and has so many unnecessary details though. I wish you would've tried to make the "Matriax" lettering more interesting, rather than wrap it in clouds and glowing things and butterflies and lightning and water and the moon and it's just tiring to list all the things.

It seems like you spent more time on the fiddly details than the overall layout. Each element appears to be done separately, giving the piece a very disjointed feel. The left side is much heavier than the right side. Since everything has an equal attention to detail, I am confused about the focus. There is a slight single-point perspective on the lettering, but since the tree and flower (right of the text) don't share this, it ends up looking skewed.

I remember seeing this on the forum as well. This looks flawless. I also like the shading techniques you used in this. It strangely reminds me of a Sega Genesis game too.

yes. it is one of the best balls I've seen =] I love it. very crisp and breath-taking. 6+6/6+favI see no flaws =] I remember seeing this in the WIP section, and there weren't any flaws then :P You just made it better.
