Fantastic. The dithering makes everything so smooth. Doesn't even look pixeled.
I think this is amazing! Great work making it so smooth and realistic with only 16 colours <3
It all depends on what your style is. Some people enjoy that of photorealism, such as I. Others may PA strictly for style, or a stylized approach, as do I as well. I enjoy this piece because I enjoy realism. I also enjoy some of the more stylized pieces, such as that of Jinn and his pieces.
What's the point of pixeling photorealistical from a photo? Using a reference for another aim is ok I think, but this is just a copy. No doubt that the artist has very good skills and this is masterfully done for sure, but I will never understand why people adore something like this.
I would have said you used indexed colour on PS, but this is better. The fact it's done by hand makes it even more remarkable. Absolutely stunning, one of the best pieces I've ever seen.
this is beautiful. I love how it came out. good job!
You ever see a piece that is ridiculously awesome that placed 3rd or 4th for the month and you can't possibly imagine how great the things were that beat it? This is one of those moments :] Great job
It's art like this that makes me want to learn how to draw in pixels. The sheer realism is amazing, and it's even more impressive knowing it's all done in tiny dots!
It rocks. Keep up the good work! ![]()
please, only post pixel ar-- what? fucking amazing! ![]()
i have a feeling that that's NOT an actual pixel art. but i could be wrong
Shut up, there's no why this is a pixel art. You must have reduced the colors on a picture of something. O.O
This is one of the most amazing artworks I have ever seen.
At first i was like
"WTF where are the admins this is clearly NOT pixel art."
but then i zoomed in and my respect for you went <9000.
I'm am almost crying, seriously, this is gorgeous.
Woah, that looked like a photograph at first! D: 5/5, for sure!
Another comment has been made (jedzed) about anti-aliassed work looking 'photoshopped', which made me think...
When I started 'pixelling' in the late '80s, systems such as the Amiga and their rich pallette became a boon for artists, allowing 'antialiasing' to give the effect of straighter edges, and other effects. We used it constantly; and for this early period many of us didn't look back, less try to emulate the 'raw' limits of older 8-bit systems' graphics restrictions.
It's interesting as time has moved on we see more-and-more pixelled styles revert to the non-antialiased (aliased?) styles that artists had no choice but to use, but now use in anger - Metal Slug being the obvious example.
Do we think anti-aliassed work today, a technique that could once only be produced meticulously and skillfully by hand, has a lesser credibility now that such a technique (cheat?) is the bread-and-butter of modern art tools - even tools that are meant purely for pixel art?
Just a thought :P
h*ll!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is amazing!
f*k!!!!!!!!
keep goïng
are u pixeling before u come here?
holy sh*t,holy sh*t!!! added to fav's! god damn it! this is a supernatural pixel!!!! keep going!!!!

Thanks again guys.
It's been a while since I last checked my folio and I`m amazed at all the nice comments that have been left.
To tell you the truth, this doesn't even seem possible.. I mean, how can someone make something THAT good? It should have been #1 in the top pixel art. I love it, its incredi.
Merry Christmas
How the hell do you do this?!?!?!?!?
Sorry but it's almost impossible for this to be 100% paint it's do REALISTIC how do you do this on paint do you millest the program?!?!?!?!?!?
Ok sorry for the rudeness but this is just pure godlyness ![]()
i still don't know how you do this but you sir are insane with a magical power!!!
Lucky...
You're right, that jawbone area is a bit on the rough side. I`ll take another look at it.
Thanks for your help eghost. ![]()
Well spotted with the far side of the face. I hadn't noticed that but you're right it does appear a bit flat.![]()
Could you give me some pointers on the dithering that could do with some cleaning up. I`ll sort this out whilst I'm fixing the far side of the face.
thanks for your comments. ![]()
Amazing what one can achieve with 16 colors. This is masterful!
