michael :) :: Pixel Art Detail

Really awesome. I love it :D:D The style and colors are fantastic. His jacket isn't nearly as well pixelled as his face and hand is though- the aa is kind of weak on the jacket- some of the lines are really jagged and some of the colors don't blend well on the jacket...The lips are kind of flat too, but overall its a 5/5. I especially like the eyes and nose ^^

Really a great piece, especially considering it was colored on a B/W tv (this background fact really adds so much sort of nostalgic charme to the whole thing, to me). BTW, here's my confession: first vinyl I owned was a MJ record, too... and second and third too Dangerous, Off the Wall and Thriller (strange order, I know)... never owned Bad as vinyl, though )

ok, ok, I moonwalk everywhere.

some things particularly bother me about this piece, though. such as the chest and right (our right) side of the face, the jacket as well, but overall nice.
really reminds me of ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/mirrors/amigascne/Gfx/gfx2/tydh-raped.gif (which tomic mentioned earlier - I believe that's right.)

what the bob said.. the head is very well executed, the clothes lacks a bit of detail for my taste

orginal was done by a caricaturist named sebastian krueger.. the second time i see this beeing used as reference for a (demoscene) pixel piece (no crit!).. the other one was done by tyshdomos^abyss (if i remember right)

Holy Action-Jackson, it's Michael Jackson! Very demoscenish, which I tend to like. Not many problems that I can see. Although I did notice that his red lapelles(or jacket collar I guess?) Don't blend into his black shirt that well, or into any part where Your Blackest color meets the red hues. I guess if you wanted, you could probably add a darker red to AA the two a little smoother. But again, this is nothing short of awesome. The chariacture of the face is my favorite part. And yes, I think we are all closet-Michael Jackson fans..(admit it Jalonso)

LOL! I used to do that too! I used to use to work it out with just the RGB values, which I'm guessing you did too.

Did you use any reference? And what do you mean about coloring it on B&W TV??
