This is a sprite that appeared in NFGMan's Character Design for Mobile Devices.  I used it as the basis for the 'step-by-step' creation section i penned. Great book for people into pixel art.  My homie Brandon Sheffield of Game Dev Mag/Gamasutra/Insert Credit wrote some stuff for it as well.

Credit to my colleague Mr. Chan who helped with the final rendition.

Hah, I thought this looked familiar. I was all "Hey, but... wait!" and lo, it was true. It's a particularly complicated image that I think works well because of the shadows, which give it a shape that the complicated pixel work doesn't completely define. Is there an animated version?

Wow nice pixel work, but shouldn't his left leg be a lil bit lighter than his right one?

You really need to zoom in to appreciate how hard this piece was. It turned out great, just a little sudden where the light hits the shadow.
