Hello! :)

I've done an illustration to the L. Carroll's verse, "Jabberwocky", (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabberwocky).

He took his vorpal sword in hand: | Long time the manxome foe he sought-- | So rested he by the Tumtum tree, | And stood awhile in thought.

This is the second less popular CGA setting, that is, green, brown (orange?), red and black - four colours often considered disappealing if mixed this way (generally not liked). My aim was to make something I've never seen being made with this CGA variant. Working with such a restriction isn't an easy thing, I have to say after trying.

It was a 45 min' sketch which I was rendering little by little (in a few days, a few min daily this time, hehe) to the effect you can see here. It doesn't differ too much from the first approach, so you may call it incomplete. But hey, sometimes it's better to leave things how they are than to overdo. It was a hard piece actually, but I'd say, an unique one. I'm really happy that some people like it.

Thank you!

That's a very impressive picture when you concider the palette you're using. How is your eyesight after drawing it?

I have to admit it took me quite a while to see the man when I saw this on pixellation, but damn this is great.  Way to go!

Skurwy87 (Level 4 Murderer) at 2/16/2007 8:35:49 AM
It's a fixed palette, I can't help it unfortunately.

Thank you very, very much for all your kind words, critique and favourites! I didn't expect such a warm welcome! :D

I don't know, in contrast to everyone else, the colors hurt my eyes, and really take away from it.  Pixel placement itself is amazing, and really flesh out the scene, but the colors are just throwing me off.  Sorry.

I'm in love with this piece. I happen to like to colors and I think it's because you used them so well. Great job! 5/5 and fav'd.

Really great work Skurwy.  This is a very imaginative use of the palette.

Seriously excellent. The way you used the colours is great, and the form of the dude on the left is brilliant. Wh00t.

Lets just say.  If this was an inkblot test, i would fail.

Josiah (Level 8 Marshal) at 2/14/2007 4:41:27 PM

rabidbaboy (Level 4 Shichikyu) at 2/14/2007 4:25:35 PM

Really great atmosphere, and something achieved with only four colors!
