My very first attempt at pixel art. I read some articles on making shapes and then my boss gave me an assignment: make a full set of chess pieces 12x36. I think I was successful, being my first time. I can't wait to start making characters!

I like the pieces, the dithering looks weird, but it gives it a unique style I think :)

I think they look great! the black pieces especially, maybe try changing the black on the white pieces to a medium to lighter grey...

You used way to much contrast in my opinion.
(Too many light shades on the black peices, too many dark shades on the white peices)

Hi, thanks for the advice. I got photoshop and was able to make the transparency. (I was using MS Paint

.) I also reversed the white pieces to set the light source. Hope this is acceptable.

You should probably remove that green background and replace it with a transparency.
As for the art, its a nice little set. I don't think it needed the dithering you gave it though. The details are a bit hard to make out on their small size.
