My biggest crit would be the beam of light. It should start dark underneath the craft, as that increases in brightness the light projection expands.

Nice! Ok, here it comes ;) The ship is too dark. brighten it up, perhaps add some details, like lamps or a door, windows.
When it's at top it shakes, It would be nice if it hovers instead, like more smooth and slow.
The alien could use a bit of shading.
Anyways, keep up the good work, I hope to see some more work on it.
