Just a little something I whipped up in 15 minutes. Had some Forigner playing in the background. This would be fun in a danmaku type shmup.

I make sprites mainly for myself. I don't make static art like scenes or portraits simply because they do not bring my the joy that game art does. I learned to program because of my art I don't have fun making somthing I'll never use. MoD seems to understand this concept. Video game sprites and perhaps some fonts are the closest to the origins of pixel. Pixel art was born from the need for digital interaction between a user and computer. Each idea must be symbolically designed within the limits of the graphics processor.

And MoD you are right sometimes sprites loose interest in lower saturatin levels, that's not to say you should be burning out your retnas if you can avoid it. Honestly i wish my MS Paint program only supported work in 256 color mode then I wouldn't have to make up fake limited color paletts just for the sake of the pixel art tradition.

He's also made bullets, stars, asteroids, at least one robot, and a gun. ;)

I really like this piece; the frontal lighting gives it a good impression of form and the colors are perfect, except that the flames are a bit strange-looking as they share the semisaturated palette of the ship's red elements. A necessary evil in the name of palette minimization, I suppose.

It's not that I don't like spaceships, I never said that. It's just that that's the only thing Outlaw makes, I want to see him try something new and different!

I really want to see you do more different stuff then space ships, space ships, space ships and space ships.
