I know that most of the time, less is more, but it seems a little bit unfinished to me..
Maybe a horizontal panning of the characters (going further from each other then closer again) when switching the character would do the trick..?
otherwise, the characters kick ass, I wish I could draw like this

I absolutey like the characters and their style , but there's on crucial flaw to the composition: when Shan is being selected, it completely hides the grey preview of Carol. If I was to design this hyphotetical game, this would classify as inacceptable and necessarily to change (partly because the overlapping isn't the case the other way around; but also because it's generally not desirable).
