I finally finished this boulder, I've been working on for 3 days and a few hours. Originally it was for a straight on, sidescrolling platformer, but the guy I was making it with and myself decided to add a bit of an angle to the view so this became sort of obsolete.
Still wanted to finish it as I love it, so tell me what you guys think.

I actually did all the shading myself, thank you very much.
And ceddo, I don't have a back ground I could currently use.

The rock itself looks fantastic, although some hue shifting would liven it up (not make it alive, other "livening up"). The outline makes it look completely 2D though. Do you have a background on which you can place it on?

Ah, thank you all for the comments. Also, what you were saying Vertigo, I've heard that on another forum that has a small graphic art section that I posted this in. It seemed telling them it was priorly for a straight on platformer fixed their issues with it.
Was that what you were trying to point out or something else?

Simple yet effective. The detail is very good

Nice, but it looks flat (the rock itself). You did the shading on each seperate piece very well though.

I really like it! Love the dithering!
