Lavar live on the bed of the ocean, usually in coral reefs. Most of their day is spent preening anything it comes across with it's many feelers. Humans have taken a fancy to their amazing ability to clean and have enlisted them as pets; taking advantage of their skills.
When a Lavar matures it becomes a Popolyp. During this stage of it's life it plants itself into the ground and becomes a stalk. It will grow many layers that form over each other many times. As it develops a sea snake will lay it's eggs on and around the Popolyp. The poisonous membrane of the Popolyp keeps predators away and the Popolyp eventually assimilates the eggs.
Around the time the eggs hatch the Popolyp goes through it's final stage of evolution to become the Medusa. The Medusa is controlled by and entirely dependent on the sea snakes. Without the snakes it would only drift aimlessly and slowly die of starvation.
There's me entry. I decided to stray a bit from the pokemon style because the only thing that doesn't evolve in pokemon games is the graphics. You'd think they could devote a bit more time to them considering they aren't animated and there are only two graphics per pokemon. (front/back)
Thats very nice! I can't beleive you didnt get a place.

Haha, I love the scientific references. Pokemon names have layman words mixed with the scientific terms though; make them more like "Popolyp", Medusa is just too scientific.
I like the colors too. The top of the Medusa's head needs some AA like that on the Popolyp's.

The last evolution is such a great idea, and nice execution!
@ Natano: Your "automated" messages suck. It's translated spam.
I like how dynamic these are. I think alot of us share that sentiment on the pokemon graphics for the games. The line-art is whats really exceptional when examining the pokemon sprites and I think you've achieved that here.

Ohhh I love this one! I adore jellyfish. They're really, exactly right and glowing. You gave them such nice names too. It might not be pokemon style (the name's aren't crappy enough) but I really love this.

Yay! Nice colors and transparency effects. My fav is the Popolyp. I was hoping all entries would contain info about the pokemon in question.
p.s. I believe there's only two images for each pokemon in games cause there's like hundreds of them and there's only so much gfx you can fit on a gameboy cartridge.
So beautiful. Great evolution, colors and characters.
