I...have no internet connection. I'm bumming off my poor friend's connection, like the arse-hole that I am. This actually had a longer actual story behind it, but I don't want to keep this person's cpu busy...so...yeah...The large characters are named, "The Shadow"... " Beware, beware, for The Shadow shall deem it right to return each night, the day of their birth. When all the blue sky turned black, and clouds turned to ashes. Giants they once stood, honorable in their hard labors, and admirable in their love for each other. Now, they are mere shadows of their once beautiful human flesh. Oh dear carpenter, beware, beware, for The Shadow look for those who hold their once carried honors, and duties by nights time. Yes, yes, for all who stand in their path, The Shadow soon dismantle their flesh and soul. Beware, beware young carpenter, for all shall fall victim to those who roam the darkness on that very night. Yes, yes, the night they return..." Yes, there are perspective issues, as it's meant to be a warped/comic book style. However, if the style still clashes with technical issues/perspective, than I'll try to change it... The clouds are still hard as F*** to comprehend, or even draw...(I needz the help!!) ...and yes, I still suck at backgrounds....OH, I actually have a WIP animation, but I can't seem to upload it for you guys to see.... No more time left, thanks for viewing, and uh..you know, crit away and junk... update: added highlights/reflection from the lantern to the main character and monster

(maybe the positioning of the "hero" is not perfect - he isn't standing in front of the Shadow, but I really don't want to nit-pick stuff)

Freakishly amazing as always bob. Love the big monsters, they're just genuinely creepy. Seriously, if I wasn't a battle-hardened lumberjack, that big skull face with red eyes would have made me scream like a schoolgirl! Heeeeee! Its a lil hard to see whats going on there though (like, I cant quite make out the monster behind the shield. Wheres the head?)
My favorite part is the castle and cliffs in the background. And the sky. Man how do you DO clouds like that, seriously! The moon's a little weird though, it looks like theres a gigantic Tesla coil on it. The building thats besides the windmill is a lil weird too.

Also, woah, I need to see the WIP! It should be VERY entertaining! Wanna see how you pulled off these clouds! (I hate doing clouds)

Wonderful! How many colors is it?
I love the way you used those two rust-brown indexes. Great colors overall. The pic is great as it is, but since you asked for crits... here goes:
IMHO of all the characters, only the duo in center should have that kind of contrast. The main bad guys face should use the browns for lighting on the dark side. The red eyes in the dark should not go all the way to white, just leave them red. The trees on the right should have more layers that get progressively bleaker. Also not all the tree trunks should be visible, instead the trees' bases should dissipate in shadow. As for the clouds i think you worry too much about the lighting. Just make a nice abstract texture. Also, when the clouds overlap the moon they tend to look pretty flat in reality, and also semi-transparent.

Whoa, wtf. This is so amazing, but it's not surprising since you made it, Bobby-butt. :B

The only part that really bothers me is the moon, just for it's not-so-roundness and some of the crater shading doesn't make sense. Everyone else has done a good job of pointing out all the points, so I'm not gonna bother to repeat them.

In anycase, I totally love that guy's lamp, pack, and BUTT.

Great!

I think background objects are too contrast and bright. I can't feel depth of this because of this. Also I just noticed there are lots of... hm... let's call'em enemies :) Again, they are bright and contrast and I thought they are part of something large on the foreground.

Maybe you meant it, but the characters are hard to distinguish from each other. They look like one solid mass.

The clouds on the right are gorgeous. You should try and imitate that style for the clouds on the left.

Otherwise, GRRRRRRRREat job!

Fantastic colours. Clouds look too much rocks and grass looks lil bit hilly. Some monsters / demons looks too dirty. Can't notice what it is. Moon is too bright.

This is really awesome work. Some parts of this are hard to read though... in the background, centre-top, is that clouds, or rocks? The clouds to the right are easy to comprehend for me, though they look a bit too plasticy and bulbous where they cross the moon.

The second thing is it's hard to tell where the huge monster (the one directly in front of dude) ends and where the rest of them begin. The outline isn't clearly defined by the lighting, and the shapes behind the monster mimic his features quite a bit. Perhaps this is a feature of "The Shadow" (i.e. we're not meant to be able to see a clear distinction), if so it may need to be more explicit.

That said, the detail and colours in this are fantastic, would love to see where you go with this if you decide to work on it further.

This is some nice work you have here, i do agree about the thing with the clouds though. They have to much of an up and down feeling to me they need to be more sideways [if that is a cloud im looking at in the middle of the sky]. Also, i like the background overall except something about that large area of grass looks kinda weird. [Faved and 7 points]
