Here the adopted by classic russian novelist Pinocchio - Buratino.
Don't really know what is all about talking of original - hever read it actually, all i know - he wants to be a real boy. Just like myself=)

In russian adoptation Buratino's trying to get some money for his dad carring a golden key along the way from  puppet theater hidden in fire place behind drawn on canvas fire, quite dumb and kind character. Again, just like me=)

It's might take some efforts, but i'm not going to work on it anymore.=) Buratino sprite is leftover from some project, the rest just quick work.

Буратино! I liked this cartoon when I was small... Now the only multfilms today are "Смешарики"... Albeit "kiddieish", but I am still a child at heart. I hope this site can support cyrillic, if not then all well... It's fun to write things in "Русский".

Doppleganger (Level 5 Rokkyu) at 7/20/2007 10:29:53 AM
Oh! ah yes. Almost forgot.

Really great stuff as usual XD

The rat tail gets a little bulbous around the big 45 degree curve though.
Ha! Take that!

Biffo (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/20/2007 10:02:09 AM
Awesome.  I really love the background, and stones.

jh-pixelzzz (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/20/2007 1:04:13 AM

My favourite part is the brick work inside the fire place. Good stuff, Fool

Pukeko (Level 1 Thug) at 7/17/2007 10:03:05 PM
Never heard of it. But the picture is awesome! The details are just amazing!

BiOBER (Level 4 Lieutenant) at 7/17/2007 11:43:20 AM

exocet (Level 5 Captain) at 7/16/2007 2:54:27 PM
Great pic once again! Really nice characters and lots of details in the rest of the scene.

ice9 (Level 1 Gangster) at 7/16/2007 7:14:11 AM
I love it, texturing is so cool and it's nice to find Buratino while searchin for pixel art here on PJ -- I saw the movie about it when I was in Russia last time, 1 month ago or so -- I got impressed when I learned about this interpretation of italian Pinocchio :) -- anyway, superb work as usual!

Stickman (Level 4 Deputy) at 7/16/2007 3:58:27 AM
Absolutely fab! What I really like is the use of colours on the hat he's wearing. While everything else is in browns , yellows etc, the red on the hat breaks it up nicely

iLKke (Level 7 Mass Murderer) at 7/16/2007 2:14:43 AM
BREX PEX FEX!

Yea I loved Buratino as a kid. Lovely lovely work this is. Very glad to see you do a scene complete with background, instead 'just' a sprite.

7/7, foo!

de Thch (Level 1 Private) at 7/16/2007 12:08:22 AM
Wonderful!!

rajkosk8 (Level 3 Private Eye) at 7/15/2007 1:12:45 PM

SpecsNCandy (Level 2 Flatfoot) at 7/14/2007 3:12:27 AM
It's beautiful! *envy* Hehe.
How long did it take you to do that?

Fool (Level 6 SWAT) at 7/14/2007 2:24:28 AM
Thanks all for comments.=)

DarkfalzX, funny thing talking about propaganda is that soviet system generally makes people work for idea while adopting Buratino's search for money.=))

drZool, usually i just forget to take shots. Most of the time forget to save work as well - i've been punished so many times.=)

nvision, yeah, fixed this, thanks=)

pmprog (Level 4 Murderer) at 7/13/2007 1:34:43 PM
Your work is outstanding!

Necky (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/13/2007 1:28:51 PM
WOWZY! That's absolutely beautiful! FAV!

marilii (Level 3 Corporate Drone) at 7/13/2007 1:16:10 PM
Simply amazing. As usual, of course. Definitely a favourite.

Setzer (Level 7 Mass Murderer) at 7/13/2007 1:00:42 PM
great texture on everything, I never read any books but disney's Pinocchio was great.

DJD (Level 4 Button Man) at 7/13/2007 12:55:19 PM
I want to be it. Amazing work, once again.

Gas 13 (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 7/13/2007 12:48:49 PM
Now I see that guy is drunk and speaks of life and respect with a rat. Wood can't be drunk.

Support drZool's idea ;)

NiceIdiot (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/13/2007 12:12:18 PM
Lovely.  The secret door in the fireplace is a nice touch!

Xion Night (Level 1 Thug) at 7/13/2007 10:56:24 AM
Why are you so awesome? I mean seriously, man, why?

maintrix (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/13/2007 10:53:11 AM

ohhhhhhhhhh, that´s really awesome, I like it too much the palette is great and the rat very natural .

nvision (Level 3 Corporate Drone) at 7/13/2007 10:41:33 AM
Lovely rendering and a great sense of depth in this piece!  My only criticism would perhaps be that the back of the rat is getting a little lost against the stonework behind it...  Still, 5/5!

drZool (Level 6 Serial Killer) at 7/13/2007 10:11:11 AM
Lovely as always! Pls can you make a wip sometime. We'd love to see you in action.

DarkfalzX (Level 4 Mercenary) at 7/13/2007 10:00:47 AM
I loved Buratino when I was a kid, and I still do, though now I realize it was just a bunch of Communist propaganda, which makes it all the more awesome.
The art is phenomenal. I love just about everything about it.. but mostly the rat: )

klav (Level 7 Mass Murderer) at 7/13/2007 9:58:35 AM
your "just quick work" puts me to shame...

FredRJ (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/13/2007 9:53:38 AM

Very stunning, the back round looks so good, and the characters have great expression.

Hatch (Level 3 Private Eye) at 7/13/2007 9:15:50 AM
Stunning as usual.
