thought it would be fun to do a quick bubble bobble mockup. been a little disappointed with the look in the latest DS/PSP games.

Yes, I like it better when these bubble bobble games are just 2D not 3D.... if that's what you mean.

Heya Ken, I like this. Tho I have to say I think the aa on the rainbow does not work as it is atm and does not help to remove jaggyness. The bits of aa should be quite a bit longer, not just 1 pixel, esp on the green bit.

This may sound selfish, but I think I'm starting to really enjoy it when you're disappointed with how a game looks :D
Muted rainbow is my fav bit. Keep em coming.

Any chance of Glu getting the BB license from Taito? This looks like a near perfect way of updating the old graphics while still keeping the simple charm of the original characters. Certainly looks better than any other attempt I've played over the years, even Taito's own BB sequels..

I think the sprites and tiles are just great. I really like you style, but I do have one critisism; I think that you could have AA'd the background better with the current palette that you have.

yes , it's the same for all remakes of namco, taito, hudson games on mobiles : dig dug, bomberman... very disapointed...Make a quick good Frogger mockups too ;)
