A good way to make shading sexier is to use cool colors, instead of just darkening colors. Also, a few highlights wouldn't hurt.

Brighter colors on her back fold shades.

Oh, one of my favourite music videos! A good piece although right now it looks a bit too flat for my tastes. A bit more contrast would probably improve it. Besides that, the twisted upper body of the reference girl is lost somehow. Maybe a darker shadow under her left arm would do the trick, but I'm not sure.

Excellent! I love this work and it isn't only for its content but mainly for how this was created. The best is of course idea with that skirt...and i like that shirt. I've never done shirt so perferct like you.. fav'd + 5/5.

Thank you all guys for your great advices! I tried to make the legs look better using dithering and one extra color (it's 28 now). Is it any better? (see wip for the non-dithered version)

Fantastic piece. I would rate it a five but I'm not allowed to rate until I'm level 2. =/. The shading on the legs needs work compared to the rest of the body but otherwise great job.

I can see this in the weekly showcase at least.

Thank you for the tip on the background - I updated the picture. I did not take into account the possibility of switching the site's layout, I use the default one.. I guess it's the mistakes what makes us perfect :-)

i would have dithered. Also you AA'ed but had no background so it looks kind of strange on some peoples site layout. id say just add a background that makes the anti-aliasing look better.

Your point is right, I do not approve tracing as well. I just wanted to explain how I managed to do it the way it is.

You don't have to delete this you know. I was just making a point.

I did not trace the reference picture, I used the grid method to make it look so close. I basically divided the reference and the canvas with a grid into several squares and then tried to connect points in each square on the canvas according to the reference. I did it because I couldn't get the shape right just by hand. But I did not by no means trace the reference. If the grid method is not allowed either, I will delete this pixel immediately...

This looks like a really big trace. I overlapped them in Paint and they had a lot of really close linework.
