This is just amazing. I envy your skills, and especially with nature's things. The trees in the background and the waterlily are just gorgeous. I really like the contrast between the yellow greens and the more blue-tinged ones in the background. It's amazing how this piece is almost monochromatic, but doesn't really look it.

mikemayday, these creatures are obviously have nothing to do with ancient slovanian myths and most likely they were created  by modern mind familiar with crack and LSD. =) Probably run out of names. Striga is also the name they  possibly adopt, evolved from - Strigod or Stribog.

Oddly enough, out of this whole piece, the part that I like best is the foot going into the water.  I love the way it disappears into the murk.

I agree with elwin... ^^ and you might not be sure about the palette... but as long as we are, it's ok somehow the almost oversaturated colours with the style you fill always makes a good combo... and you always manage to keep things looking interesting with the colours, while having quite a low colour count...

Glee your colors are becoming the wonderful eye candy, I second Jalonso's statement and demand you experiment more with unusual colors. :D

I try to make it a habit to submit pieces early, just so it's got a chance to be in the monthly top before Fool submits something. :P

There's really not anything wrong with this piece, but I think I'd like to see more water being exposed. I think it'd put more emphasis on the fact that it's algy and not grass (your shading shows that it's not really grass, but I don't think showing more water could hurt).

Course, it's still awesome.
