It doesn't suck, the folds just look a little... pointy? Kind of like a curtain. A pointy curtain.

Anyway, I love the dramatic lighting and shading. And, again, the folds aren't as bad as you seem to think.

DevonR: Good idea with the cooperative competitions, but it would be much harder to organize something like that than normal individual challenge..

 I like the sense of drama of this scene: a king overlooking his crumbling kingdom...

The dithering is nice, however, I think the dithering made the robe look a bit "rough", maybe you could have done a king for my columbus scene

I like the tiles, they have a nice perspective.

PS: Perhaps pixel joint should have a cooperative competition, where 2 pixellers team up?

i love the sky, it has that 'burning' quality to it, the robe is also very nice.

I think the cloth is the best part. But other than that, I don't like it much. But nice work still.

i don't think it sucks...i love the idea, medival is my fav.

It's nice, but the head seems a little flat. Perhaps one of the colours from the tiles could be used to make his head a little more round.  Just a suggestion.

Just my advice and opinion:
You used 24 colors and had 32 to work with. Adding colors will always smooth things out. It is with practice that the challenge of using less and less colors comes in.
Here you could have added more red shades in the fabric.Especially to AA the extreme jaggies. Tho, its admirable that you restrained yourself.

I personally like the floor tiles, as they look old and varied in depth. However the crown looks a bit bright imo. Otherwise, cloth doesn't always fall in straight lines, but that's been mentioned.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know.. I just didn't dare to pixel anything more complex on my first attempt. It would turn out much worse than this :-)
