You could always put some transition in the background as well.

Nice, but im not sure if it really looks alot like you (exept that you wear a cap and glasses aswell..)
Maybe you should try a more mirrored pose, that might be easyer.
Also, you posted it double size. I know most of the pixelation avatars were, but the cool thing is that they all tried to make their face look smooth in the 2x zoom version aswell.. in the 1x version everything is smooth in yours, but the 2x version is a bit less smooth and soft..
