If it's for the weekly challenge, it's too many colors.

Okay, here comes some help ^^

Firstly, I don't see where all your colors go. 56 colors are pretty many, and this piece just looks like something with twenty colors. You need a little more contrast on the portal I think, as it looks like you are trying to make it shiny. The purple enemy is too pillowshaded, try either to reduce the highlight, or completely remove it. It's hard to see where your lightsource is, I'd probably have used the portal, but I guess that 'we are the sun'. To keep your color count down, you could have used the red from the life bar for the hearts and the enemys eye too. I like the man, great that you can make him look human at that size. You could also have used some of the portals colors for the sky, and I think you have one or two grey colors that could be replaced or removed. That's it I think ^^ Overall, I think this is fair good when you are new to pixelart. You'd be horrified if you saw my first pixelarts xD But keep going, take your time, and you'll improve :)
