I love it! I do much prefer this to the original. Makes me wonder what Kenneth's work would look like if he did the same. (Not that I dislike KF's, I very much love his style. Just would be interesting to see!)

I love the "freshness" of that mockup. You managed to add nice highlights. The clouds have nice curves. One of my fave!

@Adarias: Yes, now I understand. The public is rather divided between new and old school, and de gustibus non est disputandum.

I'm sayng that, while this is a vast technical improvement (as per the challenge specifications), the "feel" of it is so incredibly different from the original that general "appeal" can no longer be compared in terms of "better" and "worse"

@Adarias: I'm not sure I understand. You think the old version had appeal and so this isn't "an obvious improvement in shading" ? Or are you just saying that the overall appeal is still pretty much the same?

yeah, it's different, and definitely more proficient, but i'd call it more of a re-imagining than an "improvement" simply because of the old version's appeal.

I'm not seen first revision, but anyway, I like that much.

Yeah, those clouds are fantastic! I really dig the style. I really like the subtle details you've got in there too, like the ambient shading on the backs of the cats. Though, while I like that effect, it also seems somewhat out of the style you made.

Nit picking aside, the piece as a whole is really good. :)
