That's awesome! I love the complete lack of proper perspective. I think the heavy outlines makes the objects look a little flat though.

Glad to finally see that pic here, being one of my all-time favourite! Looking at it, I have no problem believing it's pure pixel art, everything is possible with time and skills :)

Vital, Tomic: Indeed, I remember being heavily inspired by that picture when I made my lillarum pic years ago...

@Varock: I didn't have any particular detail in mind. Maybe the highlights on the nose and lips with wild color mixing.

Don't get me wrong, I think the whole index-painting affair is highly questionable. God knows I've pixelled pictures with 256 colors by hand and I know it can be done. What matters to me is that every pixel is in it's place and that the image is original (not copied or referenced).

Lovely image ^^ and iLKke, do you mean the reflection on the glass of the photo in the upper right corner? cause that looks to me like it can be pixeled... And leon, maybe you still have a WIP somewhere to show us how you did it?

No transparency effect was used, I will post the WIP soon

iLKke: Transparency in DPaint? I'we used DPaint for years but i have never found an transparency-effect. :P

Yeah, you have to understand that most people here think that ms paint is the ultimate pixel tool and therefore deluxe paint or promotion are made by the devil. Just joking. It does look like you used transparency here and there tho, and PJ says that's NPA, even if you did it on a pixel level.
I like the pic very much. Only bit I dislike is color mixing on the nose. It's OK on the brow, but on the nose it looks a bit crappy.
Luckily for you, you have other pictures with around 16 colors, and everyone is ready to believe that that's pure pixel art endorsed by God. Hallelujah! :D

great one, but i fear that you'll get problems in getting this into the gallery due to the whole index painting thing - the usual burden you have at pixeljoint if you were somehow connected to the amiga demoscene in the past =)

It looks like index painting with pixel level tweaking to me (Which is very likely since it's done in Deluxe Paint), which is really murky water as to whether it qualifies as Pixel Art.
But don't be misled, it's not straight pixel art.

Awesome stuff. I'm sure this is pixel art...it's not random or anything, just colour heavy, which is ok, because it took 6 months.  Lovely style.

A lot of colors in this. Although there is obvious pixel art in there, I'm still not too sure with this.
