Correct light source placement is one thing I have always had trouble with.  I'll be sure to better take it into consideration. 

Yeah, I really tend to use way too many colors.  I hadn't even thought about texture to tell you the truth.  Thanks for the advice. 

Reduce the number of colors and up the contrast.  Those extra skin tones aren't doing anything.  Some AA would help a lot, as would, as Metaru suggested, shading with purpose.  Take texture and form into account.  I also agree with Metaru in that you really need to define your light source.

but perhaps that unnecesary pillowshading on the linework would look better if removed.
or replaced with a better shading and a defined ligthsource :P
