Its Ground-shifting-capture-the-ball-brawl!

Im not really happy with this piece, but Jalonso forced me to submit it, so, here it is. Its a fictional sport wich looks like american football (phisycal contact allowed). The goal is to keep the most balls on your field as long as possible (you gain points over time). (Edit: so for example, the blue team should capture some more balls since red team gains points quicker at the moment.) But there is a problem, the field shifts an disappears, making it harder to get balls... Didnt turn out the way I pictured it...

As far as I know it follows every challenge rule, yay!

(Edit: really, dont vote this good, I mean the stars arent even animated :S)

(Second edit: all the flickering etc. is fixed, thank you GG!)

Oh yeah, I do ruin a lot of imagination with my description :( might delete it... And agreed about the sky, but its too much work x_x

Man, I SO want to see even a small amount of animation with the people. It really begs for it. As for the sport itself, did i not read the directions right, were we meant to describe the sport in this much depth? I honestly liked the concept much better before reading the rules, because my imagination went all sorts of places just through the great visual. Once you laid the rules out, all i could think of was the questions i had about holes in the game. No real crit on the pixels, they look great. Compositionally though, that is a heck of a lot of sky.

I do like it. It sure is pity that there are no other entries (yet), but if there were, I would've probably voted for this piece anyway.

Thanks :P I didnt even think of fallen players XD but it'd be best if he gets teleported back to his teams field after a 5 second penalty (Else he'd jump of when enemies attack) Any fallen balls will be teleported to the middle of the field (one tile will stay on until the ball is grabbed) But you are right, you cant see this anywhere, but im really not in the mood to improve this picture :( I mean its 20c outside and reaaaally sunny... I sound lazy but this piece is crap in my opinion anyway XD sorry :( I have no drive...

Ahh, an entry finally! I'm glad you submitted it, I was afraid there'll be no entries this week.

I like the concept and the execution is nice too. I don't know if you are still working on it but I'd shift the whole thing up on the canvas or cut some of the top of it. It looks a bit empty. I know empty space could be good but the main part of the piece gets lost here. Or just add a big score display to the side of the field! That would fill up some space. And maybe some markers on the ground identifying the fields of the teams.

And finally a question about the rules: what happens to a player who falls? If he may come back then a ladder at the back of the fields would be nice. Some minor detail could really spice this piece up.

yep sky is poor, you can make some public or empty seats because now the sky is 50% of the work ...

considering this is a fictional sport with magic shifting platforms, I'm pretty sure it's not that far fetched to assume that it could be played on a floating platform in the sky

I think ill resubmit it... using GraphicsGale and fixing the border, the wal etc... Will be a pain in the ass to do all these frames with GG... I really dont understand what happened, the animation thingy workted perfect on non-transparant pictures before... And it cant be a human mistake, I made one frame and then pasted the tiles on to it, so colors arent changed by me... Anyway, update is coming :)

looking closer it seems almost everything is flicky =/

Also the top part of the left wall is incomplete, just near the left guy's head

And yeah, I assume total image must have 32...if you are having trouble getting rid of a few colours there are quite a few you can remove. And if worse comes to worse you can get rid of the stars

Oh yeah :S I see that colour flickering as well :S Couldnt see it be4 on my laptop (higher resolution) but the green balls also have that problem *cries* I think it has to do with my GIF program, I have graphicsgale but used a different one since that one is easier to use, but guess It screws up the image :S This means the total image has more than 32 colors! :( the individual frames still have 32 tho, do i HAVE to fix this? Oh and the border must be my fault, i pasted the BG on the frames afterwards XD

The border flicks off on one of the frames! Also the guy on the very left's hair is flicking colours
