Description: This is just one bad-ass wild charmander.
I actually came up with the palette first, and I liked it so much that I just had to use it. I had to submit it because I am leaving for "Vacation" soon, and'll be gone for 2 weeks.
I have to give a huge thanks to all my pixel-homies at the forum. They provided me with a never-ending barrage of crits, suggestions, tips and examples. I learned a ton, a couldn't have done it without you. (you know who you are)

Very nice, very different from the original pokemon style. The fire could be better tough, I would have put less of the darker red, juste a line, the middle white (just a bit) and more shading... just look at picture of random real fires... your fire is too pokemonish and does not fit the rest of the character, more realistic...
For some reason the shading isn't working for me. It's a common style that you see in the really great pieces on PJ, to use light dithering and some large splotches like you have here..but the trick I think is to hide the lines. They are very visible here, you can see where different shades start and end. The line art is good, except for the fire it looks 2d compared to this 3d character. The eyeball is a little dry, more light reflection off of it would make it seem a lot juicier. Even if you don't want him to have really watery eyes, don't you want him to at least have those baby eyes! Great job though this is good work.
