Not too good entry for this week but I run out of time since I suddenly had to go to summer cottage with my family...

The fear behind the picture is to lose someone dear to me suddenly. The death itself is not something I fear (well, yes it is scary but I don't really think about it that way) but the feeling that you've done something to one that dies that you shouldn't have done or there was something you were supposed to do but you didn't.

I actually cried a bit while drawing this. Mostly because I listened to some really sad music during the process.

About 8 hours which is mainly because of new sketching style I tried with this.

Reminds me of old NES cut-scenes in games like Ninja Gaiden (that's a good thing)

Interesting that it evoked emotion while working on it ... love when that happens!

Fixed the pink hair and thanks to thecommontask I edited the eyes of the guy in front. Seemed kind of enreal those tears of his for a while there.

the pink hair kind of ruins the feeling, and it looks like your trying to draw attention to the women, even though she isnt the main focus of the piece. In my opinion, brighten the light of the candles and change the color of the hair to something darker that goes with the rest of the scenery.

Am I right?

nice work anyway - pink hair a tad bit distracting as central focus - maybe desaturate it?
