You don't have the full story. The pieces in question have been deleted due to the hostility I received by uploading them. I understand everyone will side with the long term posters here, but make sure you know the facts before passing judgement.
and to comment about the art:
I like it. It's highly stylized and fun! Yes, it's definitely more simple than your other pieces but, sometimes, less is more.
Wade: this is absolutely silly bs. You did indeed start flaming the conversation here. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. I have seen the comments on the one and only piece you've submitted and there's nothing there that suggests they were being "harsh" or "rude" but, rather, they were pointing out the fact that it isn't pixel art. We've seen this type of art trying to fit in here before and it doesn't work at all. You should do your own homework before going off on a community and its members.
This conversation is over but, should you wish to continue it, feel free to PM me and we'll sort it out. If you choose to continue this in a non-productive way as you have been, you will be asked to leave.
We have 13 year olds on this site that act more mature than you. Grow up
Jamon: Oh, I understand much better now. If you think they're photo reduced I am very flattered. Thanks! I had a lot of people say this about my Photoshop work too until I started making videos. Photorealism is just my style.

@Wade: You would have heard most of what I told you from someone else anyway. I've showed you what others said about my old scene-pixels. I hope you read those comments before feeling insulted. If you want to upload copied photographs from ten years ago, be my guest, but don't expect my gratitude. On the other hand, if you want to pixel something, then you are welcome to Pixel Joint and you can count on everyone's support and feedback, mine included. End of discussion, as far as I'm concerned.

So yes I do confess, there is some retaliation on my part. But my point is, if someone can dish out such de-motivating and derisive comments to a new member of the board, he must be pretty exceptional. This to me is basic scribble with no effort or passion behind it.That said, I have still given the guy credit for one of his pictures.
"Pretty awful for someone with such a big ego." does NOT = artistic criticism (as Reo wrote before, but you didn't seem to read)
If you don't like it, maybe mention an aspect you think could be improved. Or maybe find a small aspect you DO like. For instance, I think the "cigarette with ash on the end"-shaped shadow is quite clever.

There's one piece of ilkkes work I really like and this piece I really don't like. If I was being petty, I'd have made nasty comments about all of his pictures and implied he was untalented (sounds familiar?) but I've been quite objective.
I find this piece appealing. It combines pixel-aesthetic with minimalist caricature -- identifiable as the performer through the stance and accessories. When I first saw this, the face read like a big nose, not sure if that's an intentional interpretation.
Wade, to say that something looks ''awful'' is not feedback.
