...The shadows don't match though, the person's shadow is going in a whole 'nother direction than the blocks'.

This reminds me of the game "Kurushi" (IQ Final). Lovely concept, but some of the cracks on the blocks looks like a bit of an afterthought on some areas. Some of the shadows casted by the blocks also look a little strange.The characters pushing is feally cool:)

This makes me think again of how great it'd be too have a museum of pixel art. Then the building should be shaped somewhat like this and broken up in a grid so that, from above, it looks like pixel art.Just a though if anyone has a couple million lying around.

This improved a lot from what you had on the beginning! My only crit now is that you should maybe give the different color blocks more contrast. The mouth and the eyes are hard to see.I love the idea of the little guy pushing the block! :D
