tear drop could stay some longer, at the moment you notice it it is already gone. Also, the statue is quite shiny, but therefor different from most entries. The rest of the animation is very nice :)
Even just that edit is a great improvement. Awesome.
@adriprints thanks for the comment. I understand what you're saying. However, personally, I'm happy with the background, it's pretty close to what I imagined. I meant it to be simple, so there's not much further I could take it without ruining the effect I was going for. I fully expect some people will disagree with this though, and that's okay. This isn't a popularity contest.
...Oh wait..
@Redshrike that's a brilliant idea. I'll see if I have time to add that. Tears from a stone, I'm pretty sure that's some kind of saying, isn't it?
I love the animation, but the background is somewhat unresolved. It distracts from the humor. You still have some time to define it.
That's really neat, though it almost feels like a lone tear should fall from the eye of the poor abandoned head.
@lollige thanks for the critique. I think you're right about the tear, but at this point I'm going to have to call it a night for now. I don't suppose the rules allow for me to mess around with the artwork during the voting period. (but I haven't checked), and well, I'm all out of time. Perhaps after the contest I can fix that. (O wait, nevermind, I've fixed it)
I hadn't really thought of it as being shiny, as I was kind of just mimmicking the tones of my reference- But the extremes of the palette I suppose make it shiny. If the highlight were a little dimmer perhaps it would be less so. Instead, I was looking at it as sort of a false color rendering, a bit like a warhol, or a beatles poster, but somewhat more naturalistic in luminance structure, which is why I liked it enough to animate it. I wanted to see how such a thing would move, I suppose. But this new way of seeing it is quite interesting as well, though one might wonder why the other statues are not as shiny. Our main character is quite special indeed, and as fleeting as a teardrop, gone just as soon as you've noticed it's there.
