Dex & Lar I started the face earlier this week and was gonna do a ''real'' scene, but then I went away for a few days. Got home sunday and realized that I wanted to be in the challenge 23:15 so I quickly whipped up a an afro and a background....I agree it sucks!

This is why the old masters had assistants to do the backgrounds for them. More fun to just do the interesting part then move on to the next project.

I think this really just needs another revision. It has potential, but as it stands, well..
the main problem with it is that the background has more detail and care applied to it than the subject. This is backward. The background should be kind of blurry and half assed, if you're going to half ass anything, and the foreground should be exquisitely detailed. Otherwise you get a bit crosseyed looking at it, like an escher print where the foreground and background keep reversing.
