still not to your quality imo
it's jaggy, underdetailed, and the colors are bland and boring. rarely do i see walls that are straight up flat and blue, man.
the sprites are excellent of course, but i just don't think you're going about the backgrounds the right way. sorry :/
I cant wait for that game.
But having some simple background that arent empty wouldnt take the attention away from the characters.
Actually, I think the empty background makes it so people look at it more than the characters, because its empty, and they just stare at it.
I have no idea what I am talking about.
the background lacks something....even for non detailed stuff.
Also the game seems a bit with all those wide spaces and no GUI. But i think its your style.
yeah, the backgrounds will for the most part keep that simple look for the entire game.

Anyway, I like the gun firing effect and the explosions. And, of course, the characters. The backgrounds seem a bit empty, though o,o

because i'm only aware of 4 competent artists at this point and the backgrounds would look better as not pixel art
