 You know, he never mentioned that this was in the style of pokemon games, just saying.

This is fakemon has a few error's that I would like to point out. First of all the sun should be in the top left and corner and shining done on the sprite from there. secound the sprite should appear looking down in the bottom left hand corner. AYou might wanna make the shading more pronounced as in darker. Try making the sprite not as flat try putting it into a pose besides a side pose.
