Pixel Art Challenge: Movember 'Stache 100x100, 16 colors. I was thinking about doing some old german spike-helmet police or perhaps viking... but realized it would be hard to fit those helmets...so this is what I ended up with; a dragonslayer or sumthin'... (And yeah, I know who he looks like, but that really wasn't my intention...it just developed like that! )

This is a brilliant piece, DB.

Shading is excellent
Expression is very compelling
Style is quite striking
Smoothest AA I can imagine

Also, it's reminding me of something (SNES game art?) that I can't place, but helps make it even more likable.

You have serious skill, and this has my vote.

the face looks great, really... real! as for the rest it reminds me of painted boards with holes in them where you put your face for a picture to be taken (like when you are at a fair or something) ;)

This guy looks like my neighbor. ha ha That's cool how you created depth on the face with all the shades. I'm going to have to try something like that. I've only been using 4 flesh tones...looks like you used 9. How long did this take you?
