A pixelation of this image: i160.photobucket.com/albums/t199/ooshmaster/twentyfirstcenturyfoss.jpg

"21st Century Foss" by master science fiction artist Chris Foss, painted as the cover of the book of the same name, published by Roger Dean's Dragon's Dream company.

Had a lot of fun with this one. This palette was very enjoyable to use and worked surprisingly well despite looking super hard at first, and I managed to put all 15 colors to good use.

last minute edit: took some advice and made the background a little less busy, taking out some stars and making the rest darker.

Ah, I wanted to say: good ship design, but it is not yours originally.. Still nice :)

Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 5/8/2010 1:34:00 PM

too bad it was an awfully bad rail shooter.

ooshmaster (Level 5 Soldier) at 5/7/2010 11:51:00 PM

That is an awesome cover. It is also very likely that chris foss influenced the artist who made it. you should try to get your hands on a copy of his book, it's a great one.

got it, thanks.

BG stands for BackGround.

ooshmaster (Level 5 Soldier) at 5/6/2010 11:30:00 PM

It is an amzing design, however I can't take credit for it. I'm still getting this pixel thing down, I hope in the near future to be pixeling my own glorious spaceships, hurtling through galaxies glinting in starlight! one day.

at least this was good practice and a fun challenge.

ooshmaster (Level 5 Soldier) at 5/6/2010 11:30:00 PM

also, xellie, what does BG stand for?

Xellie (Level 1 Seaman) at 5/6/2010 9:44:00 PM

I think you did great. Don't think it detracts at all that you pixelated a BG. So what? You did it awesomely. Also, I think that the space background fits. It looks like the original - so why change it. Well done.

Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 5/6/2010 9:13:00 PM

at first i was like "holy shit that looks like an amazing desing" and then i realised its just a resampled version of the reference using this week's challenge palette

Not sure what I should change. any suggestions?

ooshmaster (Level 5 Soldier) at 5/6/2010 8:03:00 PM

the background was super hard.

Pragz (Level 1 Depressed) at 5/6/2010 6:48:00 PM

I think the background is overpowering. Detracts from the wonderful ship. :)
