Real good set and very expressive 
The only drawback for me is the
way it messes with 
the linebreak
whereas the 24x24s 
do not
break them.
Preview is awesome and the kiss is one of the best which to me is the hardest one of all to make well.
Oh, zero cheat implication, I assure you; good utilization of the upscaling thing. Not a purist, anyway . . .
in love with 'annoyed'. The 'blabla' animation is a little slow, i think.

@Mathias: What's zectory, have I missed something good? Actually I did use a modifed bilinear-interpolation algorithm I deviced...however it's quite limited and only serves as a slight help in addition to a plain x4 upscaling - I still had to spend almost an hour of post hand-pixelling on that upscale (so I don't think it was cheating, haha)
@r1k: Yeah, Evil laugh is probably next in line for animation if I decide to animate more...
@Manupix: Yeah, "Bow" is tricky! What do you mean by "the hands are not immediateley seen upward"?
@Hapiel: Thanx, yeah...I went fullsize right away (even though I personally prefer something slicker)...guess I had some ambition for that nice "Thumb"-trophy by just making a flashy sample...but ended up making a whole set, hehe!
Clapping: Yeah, I know the hand covers the mouth...not easy to make any different...maybe I'll test if making it "wider" will improve the look. Basically I figured that clapping couldn't really be confused for anything else.
these are great. I really like the sick one too. I kind of wish evil laugh was animated.

is also a bit perplexing: I can't really tell what emotion it conveys, and the hands are not immediateley seen upward which is confusing.
Well done! I would use these! Unique, expressive, perhaps a slightly big but they will for sure pimp your posts and comments!

@ x-death: Thanx, yeah you're right: "shock" might be percieved as a little angry...will tweak.
by far the best emoticons i've seen to date. and i'm not talking abou just this comp i mean ever!
so as for stand-alone emoticons my only complaint is that shock looks more like the person is pissed off. animations though the only one i really liked was the sleep one. the others i thought could have ahad a delay before the animation played again.
These seem like they'd be fun. Very readable. Lots of expression. The only one I'm not sure of is the clapping one. I don't know what it is. Maybe the hands should move out more?
