This is beautiful enough to make me forget the teal + orange trend that movies made me hate.
Badass. Love the sprites and the HUD. Background could use some more detail but definitely doesn't look bad.
Very good but must agree the orange ramp could be adjusted a bit as mentioned.

Recolored the orbs to a more desaturated shade; I'll deal with fixing the preview at a different point.
Haha, manupix. And good counter-point Kitten. But really, evaluate how much visual weight those orange orby things are getting as a result of their coloration. Way too much. They look like they're on a different layer or something. Only one possibility (who died and make me the god of design principles huh?) could justify the design decision - the orange thingies have high gameplay significance. But they're just bg doodads so no-go there hehe.
I think the orange is used for the "Skills" aswell, so it fits..
I think the orange looks excellent. "Killing the palette" is no concern if you can use the color well and it serves as a vibrant addition.
I will totally go back and fix that and actually DO SOMETHING with the huge empty blue background once i am not totally burned out by this thing
