Yeah, i tought the same, that some AA could make it look cool, but get lazy :P
Nah, really the thing with AA it's I need to use 2 more colors at least, and if I have them I could make a lot of more intrincate patterns and shapes, so I must do everything all over again to keep the level with the possibilities. Too much for a finished piece to me.
I think that can use AA in my next piece, so I think in that from the beggining.
I love these things. <3 The design is really interesting, I've spent the last five minutes just following the symmetrical patterns of pixels...
Some AA would make this piece even more awesome, I think. Okay, I know how much of a pain in the butt that would be, and the lack of AA really isn't noticeable unless you zoom in. :P
I've always wanted to do one sand mandala, but I've never thought the parallelism with pixelart. You gave me a lot to think about. I've done a lot of mandalas, as themselves and for background, maybe I should start asking myself why I do what I do XD
Hey, thanks everybody!
Yes, it's an eight part mirrored, I use smart objects in photoshop so if I change one part, eveything updates at real time, it's a cool way to work.
It looks like they may have only had to make an eighth for it to be mirrorable.
I like the name Sebastian.
I remember the old mandalas. I think I have a kit for them still. Very cool and great idea.
interesting conceptually, due to the parellels between the construction of sand mandalas (one grain at a time) and pixel art. beautiful design.
Did you do quarter of this then just mirror it in the other 3 quadrants?
If not, that must have taken a lot of double checking to see if everything was dot on symetrical O.O
It's amazing either way.
Beautiful... OoO
Do you mind if I attempt something similar in the future?
Your best mandala so far, I like
And I don't think that it needs AA, as long as it's not supposed to be viewed at 2x or higher.
