Man you worked soo well!!!
critics:
mouth looks strange REALLY strange
eyes could be better
his left chest needs lots of improvement in perspective and shadows.
good luck
nice, reminds me a bit of Dragon's Lair. I have trouble with the left elbow anatomy and flattened torso, but that hardly detracts from the overall good handling of the piece.
What do you think of making a bigger contrast between the greys of the warrior and the greys of the stone?
I think that it would live this more up. As of now they are mostly differented by texture, which is awesome (especially the metal and even more the chain) but the warrior looks a bit stony. Another possible to tackle this which I can think of would be to make his form more stony so that it would look like a statue. But that would probably take too much away from this piece.
Either way: I like
Thanks for the feedback everyone! :D
@ Cyangmou: Thanks for pointing out the anatomy problems :) anatomy isn't one of my strong points (and it shows). I've looked at more pictures and diagrams of the anatomy and hopefully now I've got it right.
The stone texture and the chainmail are mind-blowing!! The rest is awesome, but those two things stood out to me! Excellent work
I only noticed the anatomical issues when the others mentioned it - I think this is superb technique
DIIITHERRRINNNNNNNNNGGGGGG
So cool. Love the axe-- the stones as well. I'm a huge fan of little figurines and shit so I'm a bit in love with the detail
screw the anatomy-- looks just like some kinda bubbly package art fot an atari game or something-- it's fitting
Aside from the anatomy issues I love the all the textures and material definition, the axe is wonderful. Just need to brush up on your anatomy some more.
Also I think some of his muscles would look better without the strong highlights.
very impresive!
hell lot of work
great pixeling
but anatomy sux little (corpse)
Kinda like the preview more. Great technique, but the already spotted anatomical issues (especially on arms and the overall lenght of the limps) are a little disapointing.
Other than that, pedestal is awesome :>
There should be way more definition and bulk on that tricep. The tricep usually makes up for around 60-70% of the arm. The forearm should be about 50% longer and the shoulder could be a bit bigger too. The technique and overall quality is good though.
Feet aren't so great, but those hands.... dang. I'm kinda dissapointed that this isn't colored, but it's definitely a great piece of pixel art :D
pretty nice rendition, had a good impression. The axe is also great and the stone texture pretty nice too.
Although you have some anatomical issues in it. Let me list up the most important ones:
-left wrist joint: is missing or the twist of the arm is completely wrong. The arm is bend like the right finger is the thumb, but the right finger is the forefinger, so the connection is wrong.
-elbow: connection of the biceps is wrong and the Pronator Terex is missing (you cant count on your referece because your arm is in another way bent)
-front shoulder: somewhat with your deltoid is wrong, I guess it's because you don't drew in the collarbone which should be a bit visible beneath the chainmail
-feet/shoes: the shoes seems to be completely out of place, they are to round and to comic-like for the rest of the rendition.
-obscured leg: shinbone is slightly shorter than at the visible leg.
Great pixeling, but position looks to forced and anatomy isn't quite correct.
What I really liked about this image is the technique and the stone texture of the platform.
Great work
