My PC have 2 different screens and they differ a bit too.

I also tried my many Amstrad CPC/PLUS monitors and the result can vary greatly from individual computer or monitor to different ones.

Old Electronic is old and wasn't accutely tuned perfectly. human eyes can't really make that much difference anyway.

Nice to see you post all your productions here, CeD.

Brilliant piccy!

I remember to have seen it in a demo (?), but which one?

CeD (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/17/2012 5:43:55 AM

In fact this image was used for CPC + demo and although it has 4096 colors , it is impossible for a CPC + to display the colors of the old CPC , result : colors more satured than à real CPC old , but it was created on an real old CPC with my fingers

To be fair not even all the CPC emulators use the exact values.  I personally work with 0,127,255 but when loaded into a particular emulator find my pieces look a bit darker or slightly more contrasted.  Doesn't bother me too much though as colours on any system probably have similar differences on anybody else's screen.  As long as the colours are similar enough to not really be noticable it's not really an issue (by that I mean if there's a bright pink where a dark green should be for example).

Those are not the colors; they should all have RGB-values of 0,127 or 255, yours don't - it's not even close for some. Am I missing something?

Hi, I do not think my colors are wrong  Here, the image was made on a real 8bit (with a basic software , for movement on the screen must use the keyboard arrows and press the spacebar to put a pixel) and as you know there constraints such as a color palette imposed in this color mode ,  4  max of 27, my proposition for our friends is the posterized effect set to 3 retrieves the 27 colors of the Amstrad CPC on Photoshop (or other PC software )

 Nonsensely funny!

So if you posterized it, why are your colors so wrong?

Hello OCP is a software for Amstrad, so it uses the hardware of the CPC ;) , this image was transferred to PC later (after the meeting) , in Photoshop  a solution exist to find the 27 colors , with the Posterize effect with the value 3 (3 level per channel RGB 3 * 3 * 3 = 27), it works pretty well

Billiant piece!

Just wondering about the colours. The colours seem a bit off for CPC as they are usually whole numbers of 0, 128 and 255 in mode 0 and mode 1 with the 27 available colours (I'm a cpc man myself) or is there some sort of special colour tool in The Advanced OCP Art Studio? I've never used that package myself.
