I think the brainslug one takes away from it. The scarab is still tattoo but the brainslug has shading and animation. Ever seen a moving tattoo?

Did not see this one. Love the edit, and bugs on pumpkins, although horrible for crop and agricultural reasons, make damn good artz! You should carve something like this in real life and post it...

I actually didn't because it originally was top-left lit. However, if I had done that it would be ok as far as pixelart is concerned because I pixelled the first half. Copy/paste in pixelart is not seen as a problem for the most part.

It's not a tattoo in pixels, but the idea of one in pixel form would be quite intriguing.Anyway, like Ensellitis said, instantly recognisable and thus is Win.
