I decided to go with the classic Mario version( which is again, from Monsoon2D's design, which you can find in his gallery. I think it's called classic vg card), and make a default walk...again, this is just my style of making Mario Bros. except in another style and variation...kinda like a fan game, where all the normal Mario world characteristics are sorta more retro and dark, with a slightly different story...Maybe I'll decide to tell you how the story goes one of these days if these piece of shat animations ever get goin. By the way Mario is copyright of Nintendo...tell me what you think, love em' or hate em', I'm willing to listen. update- added normal mario version that I drew, so others can see the difference

I know what you mean, although I don't know if "dramatic" is the word to describe it. I guess it's more like a sudden jerk of the head in the viewer direction. That and some of the colors seem pretty muddled to me.
I think one of these days, I'm going to try and make this better, as well as some of my older works. Much of them seem lacking. Thanks for the critique, though!

Just noticed, but when it's turning towards us, it seems a much more dramatic movement, whereas when it's moving away from us seems much less dramatic.

I'm really looking forward to more Mario elements done in this style. Toad, Princess, Bowser would be fun to do. Also some of the classic background elements like the green pipes and brick platforms would be cool.

I love the pixel art quality. It's gorgeous like most of your work.

If I may comment, his walk seems to limps a bit on the frame when he's facing the viewer. It's nothing serious but it breaks the animation cycle abit. Maybe the hat is doing it to me I'm not sure. Other than that I love it!
