Recent run animation for a game of mine originally started as a remake of an old Amstrad game called Astro Marine Corps but somehow now starting to develop as more of a platform shooter inspired by the likes of Gunstar Heroes, Contra, Mega Man X, Turrican, Metal Slug and so on. Haven't done a lot of run animations but I felt pretty happy with this. In the game the top part of the sprite (head, torso, arms, gun) and bottom (legs and crotch) are seperate sprites meaning the marine can aim upwards and diagonally like in Contra, MS and GH. Playable demo of game should be available around Easter '06 I reckon. |
