This was originally supposed to be 32x32 but I couldn't fit enough detail in that space so this final version is a tad bit taller. It's partially inspired by KillZone (the gas mask sorta thingy) and partially by battalion wars. I like the idea of miniature style soldiers in battalion wars, but i don't like the way they've been designed. My version would be something in this direction.

I particularly like ths stocky build on this fella. I don't have any critique to give other than maybe add a little more highlight on the gas mask. Other than that, it looks great.

Well, it might not work on a 2x1 grid but it might with a 3x1 (tried the normal isometric view, and sensation is right, this doesn't really fit it).. Any comments on the style, shading, textures, etc. anything else than just the angle?

no ... this isn't an isometric angle, it's a lot closer to being a platformer than it is an rpg

I like the style used. You were able to fit in a lot of detail, in such a small space. Good work!

And for the angle problem, it can be used for Isometric games (maybe), RPGs, icons...

i love the fat pants look but it doesn't seem like this could be used properly in any game becaues of the angle it's pixelled in.
