i love the preview dearly, the whole thing is a bit odd with the shadow - seems like it needs a background and a story, but it's cute nevertheless!

Heheh, very cool. I really appreciate the subtle shades in the shadow, and I defintely think that justifies the colour count. Although the highlight on the top of the shroom should be near the top a bit more I think, so that it corelates with the shadow. I'm usually not really keen on the use of autogenetic outlines just for the sake of having them, and I definitely that that for this piece, especially considering the lovely radiosity in the shadow; the lines just spoil the nice realistic style I can potentially see in this. Despite those things, still a good piece nonetheless.

I think you could have done an equaly good job with about 6-8 colours, but I like it.
